Summer Portraits

Fireworks and Country legends

By - Jul 6th, 2011 04:00 am

All photographs by Nickolas Nikolic and Brian Jacobson.

It was nearly a pitch-perfect 4th of July weekend, highlighted in the “world’s largest music festival” with appearances by the likes of Loretta Lynn and Urge Overkill. Yes, the Marcus Ampitheatre had the big draws in Jason Mraz and Kid Rock — but we like to feed off the energy of freewheeling crowds and performing hoedowns atop sprawling benches.

Oh yeah — there were fireworks, too.

When we weren’t gawking at recording artists or bright lights, we people-watched. Next to music and eating, this is the third best thing to do at Summerfest.  In the end, we came back with another mega-set of photographs.  Check them all out, you may just be in one of them.
