The Hilton Garden Inn’s historic Loyalty building was packed last Friday, thanks to “The Aura of Art,” the latest ART Jamboree from ART Milwaukee.

Artists and art of various media were plenty. Dancers from Milwaukee Ballet and Danceworks each performed ravishing contemporary pieces. Youngblood Theater Company put on interactive theater by the hotel bar, prompting random crowd members into becoming a part of the live performance. Milwaukee Repertory Theater displayed the art of costume, set, and lighting design.

Pfister Hotel’s Artist In Residence Timothy Westbrook showcased his elegant and fanciful ballroom gowns made from cassette tape-woven fabric. Fashion stylist Alexis Rose Criscimagna collaborated with Westbrook on the styling of the models and the display.

MARN featured artist Michael Kautzer of Epitecture Studio invited guests to contribute to a mini sculpture garden made with pipe cleaners.

Artwork of various media were spread throughout the three levels of the hotel. A comprehensive list of artists who displayed at the ART Jamboree can be found at ART Milwaukee’s website.

ART Jamboree brought out people from all across Milwaukee on a cold winter night to appreciate talented local artists and learn about various art groups that promote and create quality work while utilizing the city’s newest boutique hotels. The city has become an incubator of artists and creativity, and hopefully ART Milwaukee’s Jamborees continue to reflect that wide diversity of talent.
