The 4th of July is the perfect time to gather with friends and family to celebrate the freedoms of America. Most opt for a day grilling in the park, usually a fireworks show is attended, and a lot of red, white and blue is seen all around. The TCD Photo Team ventured out to see how Milwaukeeans celebrated this National Day including community events at Humboldt Park and Lake Park, along the lakefront at Bradford Beach and Veteran’s Park, Summerfest, and the Shorewood and Greendale 4th of July Parades.

Great pics. I was surprised that the Lakefront fireworks on July 3 were still on after a fairly rainy day (and others who went to the lakefront – I can hear the explosions from my home that’s two blocks off Brady Street all summer long, with Milwaukee being the City of Festivals – said that it was foggy and difficult to see them).

    Thanks Christina!
We only saw a few of the fireworks before they disappeared into the fog. The north side of the lakefront was the place to watch them. Luckily there will be more festival fireworks shows this summer.
